Ants and roaches
Ants and roaches in Atlanta kitchens and baths
In older Atlanta houses and apartments, both follow water and food through the walls. We start by finding where.
What you might see
- Ants in a line from a window sill or a baseboard to the sink or the pet bowl.
- Small roaches at night when you turn on a kitchen or bath light.
- Droppings like pepper or coffee grounds in drawers and under the sink.
- A damp cabinet under the sink where the pipes go through the wall.
What they are doing there
Ants are following a trail to food or water, and the trail starts outside. Roaches are living where it is warm, dark and close to food, usually behind the stove, under the sink or in the wall by a pipe. Treating the room without finding either gives you a few quiet weeks.
What we do
Four steps, in this order
- 01
Inspect
We follow the trail or the activity to where it starts.
- 02
Identify
Different ants and roaches need different treatments, so we name what we find.
- 03
Treat
Only what we found, as the label allows, and only after you have agreed to the written quote.
- 04
Prevent
We show you the gap, the leak or the food source, and say who fixes it.
Before and after
What you do, and what you leave alone
Before we come
Clear the area under the sink and the base of the cabinets.
Put food, dishes and pet bowls away.
Wipe counters and take the trash out.
Tell us where you saw them and when.
After we leave
Give the treatment time to work.
Don't wipe the treated baseboards for the time we tell you.
Expect to see a few for a short while after.
Text us a photo if it isn't easing by your follow-up.
Questions
Ants and roaches, answered
How many visits will it take?
Often two or three, depending on the pest and how long it has been there. We say the number before we start, and it goes on your written scope.
Do I need to be home?
For the first visit, yes, or someone who can let us in. We'll tell you if a later visit can be done from outside.
Will I still see some after the visit?
Some, for a short time. That is part of how the treatment works. If it hasn't eased by the follow-up, we come back.
